The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) held its 117th plenary meeting from 30 June to 4 July 2025.

The CPT adopted the reports on visits to Georgia (December 2024 and January 2025), Greece (January 2025), Austria (March 2025), Hungary (March-April 2025), Cyprus (April 2025) and Türkiye (April 2025). The reports will be communicated to the national authorities and published as soon as possible.

During its exchange of views with the Chair and members of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), the Committee raised the issue of racialised groups, policing and racial profiling as well as of transgender persons and migrants in Europe.

The Committee also discussed the outcome of high-level talks recently held in Bulgaria (April 2025), Cyprus (June 2025) and Greece (June 2025). Exchanges were held on recent visits to Türkiye (March 2025), Liechtenstein (April 2025), Spain (April-May 2025), Romania (April-May 2025), Belgium (May 2025), Ukraine (May-June 2025), Moldova (June 2025), and the United Kingdom – Scotland (June 2025).

The Committee also welcomed Domagoj Hajduković, elected in respect of Croatia.
